Town from David Bowie’s ‘Let’s Dance’ video to host tribute festival

Let's Dance Carinda event will take place this weekend

A David Bowie tribute event is being held in Carinda, Australia, where the star filmed his classic ‘Let’s Dance’ video.

Let’s Dance Carinda will take place this weekend (October 8-9) in the small New South Wales town. There will be a re-enactment of the famous clip and a covers act named Lady Stardust. Find more details here.

“What I saw was the place needed a bit of fun — let’s dance — let’s have a bit of fun,” organiser ‘Mo’ Reagan told Australia’s Radio National.

Reagan also said that a tiled wall that Bowie stands in front of in the clip still remains. “We call it the David Bowie wall,” he revealed.

Meanwhile, one of Bowie’s final collaborators has spoken out about their “amazing connection” and the impact of working on his last album ‘Blackstar’.

This follows news that a new ‘best of’ compilation ‘Bowie Legacy’ is set for release.

It has been reported that David Bowie planned ‘a long list of musical releases’ before he died, with the upcoming release of the ‘Lazarus’ musical soundtrack to feature his final ever recordings and unheard songs.
