David Bowie dominates as best-selling UK albums and singles of 2016 so far revealed

The biggest-selling albums and singles in the UK this year so far have been revealed, with David Bowie scoring three of the Top 10 albums list following his death in January.

According to figures released by the Official Charts Company, Adele tops the albums list for 2016 to date, with ’25’ notching up combined sales of 406,000 this year so far. The singer’s third album was originally released last November.

Bowie’s final album ‘Blackstar’, released just two days before his passing, comes second in the list with 345,000 combined sales, following by 2002’s ‘Best Of Bowie’ at Number Four (220,000 combined sales) and 2014’s ‘Nothing Has Changed – The Very Best Of’ at Number 10 (109,000 combined sales).

Justin Bieber, Jess Glynne, Coldplay, James Bay and Little Mix also feature in the Top 10. Posthumous Elvis Presley record ‘If I Can Dream’ is at Number Seven.

Denmark’s Lukas Graham has the highest-selling single of the year with ‘7 Years’, followed by Bieber’s ‘Love Yourself’, Shawn Mendes‘ ‘Stitches’ and Rihanna‘s ‘Work’, featuring Drake.
