SHEER ART ATTACK!

The cult band feature in an exhibition and will be playing a gig to close the event...

Cult band DAVID DEVANT AND HIS SPIRIT WIFE are putting the “art back into pop” with an exhibition and gig as part of LONDON ART WEEK.

The exhibition starts on Monday (January 29) at London Goldsmiths College Union Building and continues all week until the band play a gig at the same venue on Friday February 2 at 8pm.

The exhibition includes a host of paintings, projections, films and props made by the band over the years as part of their live spectacle, as recently displayed on their Channel 4 documentary, as well as a host of memorabilia hoarded by fans, including a lock of human hair sent by a Russian journalist hoping to curry favour.

The week-long series of events is also launched by a night at new London club Cargo on Tuesday (January 30), featuring Charley Marlowe, Neal Tait, Sound Architects and Icelandic Love Corporation, plus some performance art.
