Taylor Swift debuts at Number Four with 'Shake It Off'
David Guetta‘s new single ‘Lovers On The Sun’ has gone straight to the top of the UK’s Official Singles Chart, giving the French DJ and producer his fifth Number One single.
Guetta claimed his first Number One as a lead artist back in 2008 with ‘When Love Takes Over’. He has since returned to the top of the charts with ‘Sexy Bitch’, ‘Gettin’ Over You’ and ‘Titanium’, and has sold 9 million singles in the UK to date.
Elsewhere, Taylor Swift’s new single ‘Shake It Off’ has entered the charts at Number Four following its release on Monday (August 18). The song’s unveiling came with an announcement that the 24-year-old’s upcoming album ‘1989’ will be her “very first, documented, official pop album”.
In the Official Albums Chart, Britain’s Got Talent winners Collabro have put an end to Ed Sheeran’s eight-week reign at the top with their debut LP ‘Stars’, while Manchester band The Courteeners have entered with their highest charting album to date, ‘Concrete Love’.
Kate Bush’s 1985 album ‘Hounds Of Love’ has entered the chart at Number 29 in advance of her upcoming series of gigs at London’s Hammersmith Apollo.
