David Lynch reveals he turned down directing video for Kanye West due to lack of ideas

Director was going to produce clip for 'Blood On The Leaves'

David Lynch has revealed that he was asked to direct the video for Kanye West‘s ‘Blood On The Leaves’ but could not come up with any ideas for it.

The director responsible for iconic films such as Mulholland Drive and The Elephant Man was approached directly by West, who Lynch claims in a new interview with the Daily Beast, “refused to take no for an answer”.

However, when it came down to making the music video for the ‘Yeezus’ track, Lynch was unable to come up with a good enough idea. “I feel I let [Kanye] down a little bit,” Lynch said in the new interview. “‘Blood On The Leaves’ is one of my favourite songs. I loved the song, and that’s what brought us together, but I couldn’t come up with ideas that thrilled either one of us.”
