Speaking exclusively to NMEHIPHOP.COM, De La Soul‘s Maceo revealed that the band were justputting the finishing touches to ‘Art Official Intelligence II’, the follow-up to ‘Art Official Intelligence’, which was released in late 2000.

“Right now we’re getting ready to do a record with Ghostface Killah and we want the record to not only compliment him but us as well. From B Real we have him on a song as well and we have Cee Lo from Goodie Mobb and Slick Rick as well,” he revealed. “It’s all about just making good songs and good music. Maceo added that a single from the album was not too far away and a tour would accompany the album release.

“We’re not sure what the single’s going to be. Once we complete mixing, we have that sit down with the label and play it in the marketing meeting and that’s when we’ll decide; pick what its going to be. We’re definitely looking at releasing a single by September, the album by October. We’re also getting ready to do a tour, a ‘Spitkicker’ tour, which we also did last year. We’ll have Common and Pharoahe [Monch].”

He also said if De La Soul were to bring the tour to the UK, he’d like to play the London Subterania.
