Watch as Deadmau5 recreates the ‘Stranger Things’ soundtrack from scratch with analog synths

Deadmau5 has recreated the soundtrack to Stranger Things from scratch using analog synths.

The show is Netflix’s latest hit series. A supernatural science fiction horror series set in 1980s Indiana, it is written and directed by The Duffer Brothers and executive produced by Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen. It’s already expected to return for a second season.

The EDM producer and DJ has filmed himself creating his own version of the show’s theme song using just analog equipment.

The video, which shows each step of the process, runs for a whopping two hours and 44 minutes. Watch it below, via Billboard.

The show’s synth-led score was helmed by Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein of Austin band S U R V I V E, who recently spoke to NME about the project.
