Deadmau5 has told his Twitter followers that he’ll go into “winter hibernation” in order to work on the follow-up to 2014 album ‘While (1

The producer says he will start work on the album once his new studio – currently under construction – is complete.

The new studio build has featured heavily on Deadmau5′ Instagram over the last few days, and his new musical home looks set to feature twin desks shaped like his trademark mouse helmet.

Deadmau5′ recent tweets explained that he’s made no progress in making music since last November, but also that he’s planning to move fast once his studio is ready for move in. He says: “I should have the album done by January, I think.”


The announcement came in reply to a tongue-in-cheek question from a fan, who asked “do you still make music?”

While Deadmau5 hasn’t been making music recently he has kept himself busy, not least in falling out with David Guetta in a row over horses and sending a cease and desist letter to producers of a spoof musical on his life.

The DJ recently returned from a show in Russia, and will perform his first ever show in Macau tonight before taking in festivals in Japan and South Korea over the weekend. He’ll be performing at Reading and Leeds Festival this August bank holiday weekend.

Zimmermann also recently appeared at Glastonbury, where he unveiled lasers and a sizeable cage as part of his impressive new stage show.
