DJ claims that Hilton is only booked to increase ticket sales
Deadmau5 has criticised Paris Hilton after it was reported that she earns millions of dollars to DJ around the world.
The EDM artist wrote a blog about the socialite turned DJ after it was reported that Hilton made $2.7m (£1.6m) for four nights work in Ibiza this summer. Taking exception to the sums his counterpart is making, Deadmau5 said he found Hilton’s presence on the EDM scene “insulting” and suggested that she “hopped on to the circuit” after dating fellow DJ Afrojack.
Using a racing sport metaphor to make his point, Deadmau5 wrote: “So Paris makes a billion dollars playing a CD at a club. that’s great. how is this news again? Personally, i would pay about as much to see her ‘perform’ as [race car driving] fans would pay to watch me struggle to get out of first gear and 20 feet off the starting grid in an Indy500 race without ending up in a wreck.”
He continued: “So, don’t you think it would be a tad insulting to the professionals and fans of the driving world if I just showed up one day… dated a driver, then hopped on the circuit the following week ‘just coz i can’? god… even I know my fuckin limits… shit.”
“So Paris, thank you… were actually not even mad youre enthusiatic about electronic music… we love that you’re a part of our party. But please, get the fuck back in your go kart. No need to prove that you found someone stupid enough to consider paying you a million dollars for something the world knows you aren’t… because here’s what you actually are to everyone who knows better.. ticket sales. nothing more.”
Hilton did not respond directly to Deadmau5 but did tweet the following message after the blog post was made public:
I find it hilarious when others try to badmouth me in order to get attention. Sorry that I’m #Killingit while doing what I love & live for.

Deadmau5 then replied: “If I wanted attention, I’d put out a sex tape, f–k a dentist, then charge a million for root canals. For now, imma just be me.”
Earlier this year Deadmau5 was threatened with legal action by Disney over dispute with his mouse ears symbol.
The US EDM artist has used his signature look for 10 years and has trademarked it in countries such as Germany, Japan, Italy and the UK. However an effort to do the same in America has been met by opposition from the home of Mickey Mouse, who believe that it would affect their business in the US and abroad.
