Deap Vally frontwoman to join White Lung as touring bass player

Lindsey Troy will play with the punk band on their North American dates in May and June

Deap Vally frontwoman Lindsey Troy is set to become a touring member of punk band White Lung.

Troy will play bass with the group on their forthcoming North American tour dates, including support slots with Refused and appearances at California’s Desert Daze in May and New York’s Governors Ball festival and Toronto’s NXNE event in June. She will join vocalist Mish Way, drummer Anne-Marie Vassiliou and guitarist Kenneth William for the shows. Bass duties in White Lung were previously handled by Hether Fortune of Wax Idols.

White Lung have released three albums, 2010’s ‘It’s the Evil’, 2012’s ‘Sorry’ and last year’s ‘Deep Fantasy’, which was their first to come out through the Domino label.

Meanwhile, Deap Vally recently revealed that they’ve been recording their second album with Yeah Yeah Yeah’s Nick Zinner. The Californian duo released their debut album ‘Sistrionix’ in June 2013. The band wrote on Instagram: “Nick, it’s been a true honor and an epic adventure making this record with you. Thank you for inspiring us, pushing us to be our best, and for putting up with us. Thank you for sharing your magic with us. We kind of can’t believe it’s over. We love you and will miss you. #dreamsdocometrue #thisrecordfuckingrules #sappyvally”.
