Watch Death Cab For Cutie perform five tracks on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’

The band were the musical guest on the US talk show ahead of the release of their ninth album 'Thank You for Today'

Death Cab For Cutie performed a punchy five-track set on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night (August 15) – watch footage of the performance below.

The band will release their ninth studio album, ‘Thank You for Today’, tomorrow (August 17), which includes the single ‘Gold Rush’. The album was made available to stream earlier this week ahead of its proper release.

Death Cab appeared as the musical guest on Kimmel yesterday to perform that song, with the performance seeing frontman Ben Gibbard wearing a ‘Save Our Showbox’ t-shirt in honour of the recent – and successful – campaign to save the Seattle venue from closure.

The band also performed four other songs, three of which – ‘Autumn Love’, ‘Your Hurricane’, and ‘Summer Years’ – feature on the new album. They also performed the 2003 track ‘Sound of Settling’ to round off the short set, footage of which you can watch below.

NME recently sat down for a lengthy chat with Death Cab For Cutie – you can see video of the interview below.
