Death From Above 1979 reveal full album tracklist and tour dates

Canadian duo will play three UK dates in October

Death From Above 1979 have revealed the full tracklisting for their long-awaited second album ‘The Physical World’ – plus three UK dates as part of a world tour.

The Canadian duo yesterday unveiled new track ‘Trainwreck 1979’, which you can listen to now by clicking below.

The band will release the new album on September 8, just less than a decade after their debut and three years since reforming in 2011. Speaking to NME about the decision to make a new album, drummer Sebastien Grainger said: “The goodwill of reuniting doesn’t sustain you. People wanted more music and we wanted to provide it for them. It was that same, ‘Oh yeah, he writes these great riffs that I can write songs over’ feeling.”

The tracklist for ‘The Physical World’:

‘Cheap Talk’
‘Right On, Frankenstein!’
‘Always On’
‘Crystal Ball’
‘White Is Red’
‘Trainwreck 1979’
‘Nothin’ Left’
‘Government Trash’
‘The Physical World’

The band’s live plans begin at Toronto’s Riot Fest on September 6/7, but their tour proper begins in Europe in October and includes three dates in the UK.

Death From Above 1979 will play:

London Electric Ballroom (October 20)
Manchester Gorilla (21)
Glasgow The Garage (22)

Tickets go on sale on Friday (July 11). To check the availability of Death From Above 1979 tickets and get all the latest listings, go to NME.COM/TICKETS now, or call 0871 230 1094.
