GARAGE ROCK!

The all-ages gig in Sacramento is rapturously received...

DEFTONES played a low-key hometown show last week as a warm-up for their forthcoming US tour.

The band played in front of 200 friends, family and fans at the all-ages Capitol Garage in Sacramento.

Singer Chino Moreno opened the 75-minute set by saying: “This show isn’t about anything more than trying to play some music.”

They played three tracks from their new album ‘White Pony’ – ‘Digital Bath’, ‘Feiticeira’ and ‘Change (In The House Of Flies)’ – alongside tracks from their first two albums, ‘Adrenaline’ and ‘Around The Fur’.

According to reports from the US, Moreno also played a couple of songs with two local Sacramento bands Daycare and Phallucy, who supported them at the show last Thursday (June 7). During the latter’s set he was joined by Deftones drummer Abe Cunningham, who Cunningham played with in the early ’90s.

The band kick off an eight-week tour of the US with Godsmack.
