Demi Lovato hits back at fan who called her team “rotten” for firing trainer

"True friends don't do interviews when you OD".

Demi Lovato has defended her decision to fire her trainer, after a fan slammed the decision as “rotten”.

Posting on Twitter, a fan accused Lovato’s team of failing to protect Danielle Martin – who gave an interview shortly after Lovato was hospitalised for a drugs overdose earlier this year

“It was completely unfair to fire Dani, she’s one of the few who really cares about Dani’s health and has been helping her for three years. She’s surrounded by people who care only about her money and she does not see it”, the account posted.

“The Demi team is so rotten and she does not realise it, needs a total change, mainly from dancers pretending to be friends like @d…… and others……..”

Despite keeping a low profile in the wake of her hospitalisation, Lovato later responded when the comment later emerged on Instagram.

“You have no idea what you’re talking about…True friends don’t do interviews about you when you OD”, Lovato wrote on in the comments section.

Lovato also confirmed that she was not referring to dancer Dani Vitale – who was accused of being a “bad influence”.

Defending herself at the time of the original accusation, Vitale said: “I care about Demi just like all of you do. I have not said anything about this situation until now because her recovery has been of the most importance.

“I was not with Demi when the incident happened, but I am with her now, and will continue to be because she means the world to me just as she does to all of you.’ She added: ‘There is no need for any negativity towards the ones who care about Demi at this time. There is too much of it in this world as it is.”

NME has contacted Lovato’s representatives for comment.
