Kelly Rowland says Destiny’s Child haven’t discussed reunion plans ‘at all’

Group's manager recently said he was 'extremely hopeful' they would reunite

Destiny’s Child won’t be reuniting any time soon, singer Kelly Rowland has stated.

Rumours have circulated recently that the R&B trio may reunite after the group’s manager Mathew Knowles described himself as “hopeful” that they will reunite for a new album.

In a new interview with US Weekly, Rowland shut down the speculation, saying: “It hasn’t been something that we’ve talked about at all”.

Instead, Rowland says, the three members have “just been enjoying each other, whether it’s been about our music, whether it’s been about motherhood or our personal lives. That’s what it’s really been about. That’s been the most beautiful part.”

“We absolutely are [family],” the singer added. “We love each other.”

Mathew Knowles, father of Beyonce, previously said that he was “extremely hopeful” that the group would release a new album and tour, adding that he is “working on a few Destiny’s Child projects right now.”

Elaborating on possible Destiny’s Child projects, Knowles said: “My second book will be the autobiography of Destiny’s Child. I’m talking to the film and TV community right now, regarding a Destiny’s Child movie or TV series of some sort.

Destiny’s Child reformed for a performance at the 2013 Super Bowl halftime show and later reunited live in March, appearing together at the 2015 Stellar Gospel Music Awards.

Destiny’s Child formed in 1990 and sold around 60 million records before disbanding in 2006. Next year will be the 10-year anniversary of their split.
