DESTINY’S CHILD REVEAL LIVE DVD AND NEW MATERIAL PLANS

It might not be the last you see of the girls…

DESTINY’S CHILD have revealed their plans to release a live DVD and greatest hits album.

Despite the trio’s decision to split up in September at the end of their current ’Destiny Fulfilled… And Lovin’ It’ tour, the band will record new material for the ‘best of’ package.

Singer Michelle Rowland said: “We’ve got a DVD planned – it was actually (recorded July 15) at our great Atlanta (Phillips Arena) show, and we’re going to do a greatest hits album.”

She added: “We’re definitely going to record another song for our greatest hits album for our fans. We’re still thinking about it because we want it to mean something.”

The group announced their break-up on June 12 at a show in Barcelona but have revealed that they knew before that ’Destiny Fulfilled’ would be their last studio album.

Rowland told Billboard: “We knew before this last album and we embraced it. We were like, ‘You know what, we’re getting older and we want to end on a high note.’ We want to give our fans a great final record and we want to have a great tour and above everything, we’re still going to be here (for each other). We even make jokes about having our babies on the same day.”

The singer said that the final show of the 30-date trek at Vancouver’s GM Place will be an emotional time for the band, who will be ending their 15-year career together.

“We’re going to need a lot of Kleenex on that day,” Rowland said. “It’s going to be hard.”

However, Rowland also explained that Destiny’s Child may one day return, saying: “We hate saying farewell tour. Oh gosh, I mean we might want to do something else. You never know, I might wake up one morning and call one of the girls and say, ‘Hey, you all sure you don’t want to do another album?’ You never know what can happen.”
