November's UK shows will now take place in June 2002...
DESTINY’S CHILD have postponed their European tour, which included a string of UK arena shows in November, “in light of the current international situation”.
The group had planned to perform shows across the UK in support of their current album, ‘Survivor’. A new single, ‘Emotion’, had also been confirmed for release on November 12. However, the shows will now go ahead in June 2002.
Speaking about the cancellations, vocalist Beyoncé Knowles said: “We’re always excited when we perform for our fans in Europe and the UK. Postponing these shows was the hardest thing for us, because we truly enjoy the fans. We made that decision the very last second after taking a hard look at the state of the world right now. We look forward to rescheduling the original shows, adding additional shows, and we pray for a quick end to the fighting and a return to peaceful times.”
