Details of Manic Street Preachers‘ frontman James Dean Bradfield’s upcoming headline set at Brickstock have been revealed.
Last month, the singer was revealed to be topping the bill, playing a solo show featuring Therapy? singer Andy Cairns at the festival on 22 October at Cardiff Brickworks.
Fans have since been speculating whether this would be a set of Manics material, songs from his 2006 solo debut ‘The Great Western’, or a new project. However, now Manics director and collaborator Kieran Evans has shed some light on what to expect from the show.
“He’s basically doing a small little acoustic show, maybe singing Manics songs, maybe a couple of covers,” Evans told NME. “It’s an arts festival close to where their old studio is and I think James is raising for Velindre, which is a cancer hospital that he’s a patron of. He’s just doing that with his mate Andy Cairns from Therapy. He’s a lovely guy and Therapy were really good back in the day.
“It will be intimate and it will be great. James on acoustic guitar is mesmerising, whatever he plays. I imagine he’ll drop in ‘Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head’ or something like that.”
