“I have an extreme cologne coming out with Fab Moretti,” he said wryly, before
suggesting the scent will be called ‘Ninja Smell’ and explaining that the duo have already recorded a TV advert for it.
“We have a band called Permanent Adventure and we wear helmets, and we have contact mics on the helmets. And we run at each other, and that’s the percussive element,” he mused. “And then I say ‘What are you on?’ and he says ‘I’m on a permanent adventure.’ And that’s the scope of the ad campaign where we’re selling our product, which is extreme cologne.”
More seriously, Banhart also revealed that Moretti‘s band Little Joy will release a second album next year.
“Little Joy‘s new record is going to come out on Rough Trade,” he said, before bigging up the label. “Everything Rough Trade puts out [is good]. Adam Green‘s new record [released by Rough Trade on January 8] is his best record – it’s so, so good.”
Little Joy‘s eponymous debut album was released in 2008.
