Dido’s ’Life For Rent’ has become the fastest selling British album in six years.
By close on Friday (October 3) it had sold over 250,000 copies in five days. This makes it the biggest first week seller since Oasis ’Be Here Now’ in 1997.
Chart experts expect it to sell 350,000 to take it to the top of tomorrow night’s chart, well out-selling it’s closest rival – Robbie Williams’ ’Live At Knebworth’.

However the album, Dido’s second, will have to go some to overtake ’Be Here Now’. Oasis sold over 300,000 on their first day and went on to top 696,000 in its first week.
