Diplo has announced that he and Justin Bieber have recorded a rap collaboration together.
Speaking at the Brit Awards earlier this week (February 24), the producer, who was nominated for Best International Artist with his group Major Lazer, confirmed the track exists, but does not yet have a release date.
“That guys a little beast, you can’t contain him,” Diplo told Fuse. “We actually have a crazy track that we never put out with him, like a rap song that you might see this summertime.”
“He’s busy, he’s got to promote his album for a long time,” he continued. “It’s hard with an artist that big. Luckily we got [Jack Ü track] ‘Where Are Ü Now?’ out right before his thing started, but after that happens you want these artists to give you full attention. I think he’s going to be busy for a while doing ‘Purpose’, which is a sick album.”
Diplo left the Brit Awards empty-handed, but Bieber picked up the award for International Male Solo Artist. He beat Drake, Father John Misty, Kendrick Lamar and The Weeknd to the prize.
Bieber also performed at the ceremony, segueing an acoustic version of ‘Love Yourself’, which featured James Bay on guitar, into ‘Sorry’.
