Dirty Pretty Things make UK debut

The band play a secret London show

Dirty Pretty Things made their UK debut last night with a secret gig in London (February 21).

The band premiered their new material with an intimate show in the capital’s Kilburn Luminaire, which was watched by ex-Libertine John Hassall, Razorlight’s Johnny Borrell, manager Alan McGee, Sadie Frost, Lisa Moorish and members of bassist Didz’ former group The Cooper Temple Clause.

Following a support slot from Metro Riots, Dirty Pretty Things took to the stage with singer Carl Barat telling the capacity crowd: “It’s good to be back.”

Kicking off with ‘Deadwood’, the group tore through a set including ‘Doctors And Dealers’, ‘Gin And Milk’, ‘Bloodthirsty Bastards’, ‘The Enemy’, ‘Playboys’ and what is likely to be their debut single ‘Bang Bang You’re Dead’.

The band also threw in a few Libertines’ classics such as ‘Death On The Stairs’, ‘France’ and set-closer ‘I Get Along’.

Dirty Pretty Things kick off a sold-out UK tour at the Oxford Zodiac on February 26.

Last night’s setlist ran:

‘If You Love a Woman’

‘Gentry Cove’

‘Gin and Milk’

‘Bloodthirsty Bastards’

‘Bang Bang You’re Dead’
