Disclosure on being compared to David Guetta: ‘We like a bit of class in our music’

Brother duo hit out at being compared to EDM artists in the US

Disclosure have hit back at some sections of the American media who claim they are similar to artists such as David Guetta and Avicii.

The brother duo were compared to EDM musicians during a recent interview with Rolling Stone, and Guy Lawrence insisted that they are completely different artists as they bring “class” to their music.

When asked how he feels about David Gutta and Avicii, Guy Lawrence said: “We’re not part of that scene at all. We like a bit of class in our music. We didn’t want our album to just be an hour of relentless house. The idea was to combine that with club stuff and connect with a wider audience.”

Meanwhile, last week, Azealia Banks confirmed she’s working with Disclosure. The rapper tweeted: “Just had an amazing session with @disclosure !!!!” previous to that message, she had written: “About to enter the greatest studio session EVAR. !!!!!”

The UK dance duo, who recently pipped Queens Of The Stone age to the Number One slot on the UK Official Album Chart with their debut album ‘Settle’, are just one of a number of collaborators Banks appears to have lined up for her long-delayed debut album ‘Broke With Expensive Taste’ which was originally due for release last year.
