Disclosure return with huge new track ‘Ultimatum’

The Lawrence brothers are back...

Disclosure have released new track ‘Ultimatum’, and it’s a nine-minute epic featuring the vocals of Malian singer Fatoumata Diawara.

The new offering from Guy and Howard Lawrence marks their first new release since 2016’s ‘Moog For Love’ EP.

“Sorry it’s been a while—we have been missing you all immensely, so we wanted to share with you something we’ve been working on now the sun is shining and the trees are green”, the pair explained in a statement.

“A few months ago, we stumbled across an amazing female vocalist named Fatoumata Diawara. While digging through her discography we discovered this beautiful sample and started messing around, having fun and experimenting with it.”

Although it’s unclear if the new track will take a spot on the duo’s forthcoming third record, the pair previously announced that they wouldn’t be reviving their Wild Life festival in 2018 so they could focus on recording it.

“With a busy recording schedule ahead as we embark on album number 3 we’re going to give the green grass of Shoreham Airport a break throughout 2018 and come back bigger and better in 2019”, they said.

Last year, Disclosure also nnounced they would be taking a “time out” from music, posting a handwritten letter to Twitter. In it they wrote: “This year, we are only going to do a few special things”, citing Wild Life Festival and “a few other bits we can’t mention just yet”.
