The controversial collective insist they have no beef with the Mercury Music Prize winner, despite reports to the contrary...

SO SOLID CREW have rubbished reports that that they have been sending MERCURY MUSIC PRIZE winner Dizzee Rascal ‘chilling warnings’ following his victory at the awards ceremony last week (September 9).

A report in yesterday’s News Of The World (September 13) claimed that the supposed rivalry between Dizzee Rascal and the south London garage collective has worsened since the 19-year-old MC picked up the £20,000 prize.

The article quoted an ‘insider’, who said: “Now Dizzee Rascal has clinched the award relations have got worse.”

They added: “Basically they have sent a series of messages saying he’s just an impostor and they are still the top group. Trouble will flare up sooner rather than later.”

However a source close to So Solid dismissed the rumours, saying: “There’s no truth to the story at all. So Solid are very supportive of Dizzee Rascal and think it’s great result for him and another step forward in urban music.”

As previously reported on NME.COM So Solid star Megaman was interviewed by police in July in connection with the stabbing of Dizzee Rascal on the party island of Ayia Napa.

The MC suffered injuries to the chest and back on July 7. Megaman was released without charge.
