DJ Shadow is planning to release a remix album of his 1996 debut ‘Endtroducing…’.
The producer revealed the news during an episode of the Talkhouse Music Podcast earlier today.
Among those confirmed to be contributing remixes are Hudson Mohawke and Clams Casino.
“This year is the twentieth anniversary of Entroducing…, so curating this remix album, I wanted to provide another layer of perspective on the record and invite my current favorites and a few favorites from other eras to do remixes,” said Shadow.
Shadow went on to praise Clams Casino, who was guesting on the podcast with him.
“I listened to it and I loved it, but in the back of my mind I got really worried because I was thinking, ‘shit did he send a demo of, like, somebody else’s track? I hope this is mine!’ ‘Cause I couldn’t recognize any of the elements in mine, even though there were so many things about it that seemed familiar.”
Shadow did not mention which song Clams has remixed or when the remix album will come out. ‘Endtroducing…’ was released on November 19, 1996.
In April, DJ Shadow released ‘The Mountain Will Fall’, his first piece of new music since 2014.
