The band are set to release their second album this spring
Django Django have teased their comeback single ‘First Light’ with a short video which you can see above.
The song is set for release on January 12 and will come as a digital download or 12″. It will be followed by two intimate shows in February, the first at Leeds’ Wardrobe on February 14 and the second at Edinburgh’s Liquid Room on February 15.
Speaking recently to NME, the band revealed that they’ll be premiering unreleased material during the performances, including further tracks from their as yet untitled second album, which is due at some point this spring and will follow their self-titled 2012 debut LP.
“I think we’ll aim to play three new songs – the first single and a couple of other songs,” drummer Dave Maclean said. He added that the new record, which was recorded in London and Banbury, will be slicker than the band’s debut. “There’s more live stuff on this album – it’s not a bedroom record,” he said.
Django Django’s last live performance took place at the Hogmanay party in Edinburgh’s Princes Street on New Year’s Eve 2013. “It was probably the biggest crowd we’ve ever played to,” Maclean commented. “I think everybody was steaming by then! It was great to be back where it all started.”
