15-day sentence awaits the rapper for a traffic violation...

DMX’s appeal against a 15-day jail sentence over a traffic violation has been turned down.

Supreme Court justice Joseph P McCarthy rejected the appeal at Cheektowago in upstate New York on Thursday (January 25) and immediately issued an order for the rapper, real name Earl Simmons, to give himself up within two weeks.

DMX will serve his time at Erie County Correctional Facility in Alden.

He had pleaded guilty in March 2000 to driving without a licence, when stopped by police doing 65mph in a 50mph zone. A small quantity of marijuana was found in the car at the time. DMX had been returning from a Cash Money/Ruff Ryders show in Buffalo.
