The troubled rapper gets out of jail and onstage to celebrate the release of his new movie, 'Exit Wounds'...

DMX celebrated his release from jail on Friday night (March 9) with a gig at the NEW YORK RAINBOW ROOMS, 64 floors above RADIO CITY.

The gig was the highlight of the evening, which was a pre-release party being held to celebrate his new film, ‘Exit Wounds’, which DMX co-stars in alongside Hollywood superstar Steven Seagal. The film is released in the US on Friday (March 16).

The rap star performed five numbers before an audience including Wyclef Jean, Treach from Naughty By Nature and Jay Z.

The evening was also being filmed by MTV and was hosted by Hot 97’s Funkmaster Flex.

However, it’s not clear how long DMX, real name Earl Simmons, will be able to celebrate for. He’s due back in court on Wednesday (March 14) in Cheektowaga to face a contempt charge brought when he showed up more than a fortnight late to begin the 15-day prison sentence that he’s just finished for a traffic violation.

And as if that wasn’t enough, he’s due in court at Alden, New York, on March 27 to face a charge of felony assault, after being accused of assaulting two prison officers while he served his last sentence.
