Previously unheard Giorgio Moroder and Donna Summer track ‘La Dolce Vita’ appears online

The song will appear on a forthcoming remix album 'Love To Love You Donna'

A previously unreleased Giorgio Moroder and Donna Summer track has emerged online – listen to it here.

The partnership between disco icon Summer and synth pioneer (and recent Daft Punk collaborator) Moroder produced classic tracks including ‘Love To Love You Baby’ and ‘I Feel Love’ in the ’70s.

The new track, ‘La Dolce Vita’, will appear on the forthcoming remix album ‘Love To Love You Donna’, which is due for release on October 22 and will feature tracks reworked by Jacques Greene, Benga, Frankie Knuckles, and Duke Dumont.

“The song was begun a few years ago in Nashville with [Summer’s keyboard player] Nathan DiGesare and then tweaked over time when we went back to Nashville to visit,” Summer’s husband, Bruce Sudano told Spin. “I wanted a new song on the CD but couldn’t get approval of the demo until Giorgio came on and reworked the track and added his touch. The vocal used is actually one from early on in the writing process.”

Giorgio Moroder will hold a talk and play a DJ set at LEAF, London’s new electronic dance music event, which will arrive in the city this November. The festival, created and curated by Bestival founder Rob da Bank, will run for four days between November 7-10. Joining Moroder on the line-up for the event will be New Order, Dinos Chapman, Major Lazer and William Orbit.

Entry to the LEAF Hub is available now and comes via a four-day pass or a day pass, with stand-alone ticketed events. Click here for more information on the inaugural Leaf festival.
