Jimi Goodwin reveals solo UK and Irish tour dates

Doves frontman will hit the road in May for series of live dates

Doves frontman Jimi Goodwin has announced details of a solo UK and Irish tour to take place in May.

Goodwin will play a string of dates following the release of his debut solo album ‘Odludek’ on March 24. Starting in Sheffield on May 2, the tour will conclude on May 26 with a homecoming show at Manchester venue Gorilla. Scroll down for the full listings and ticket details.

Speaking about the forthcoming album, Goodwin recently told NME that fans should expect the unexpected: “I had this thing where I could hear people saying, ‘The guy from Doves has made a solo record. I bet I know how that will sound.’ There’s nothing contrived about this album, but if there was one thing I was conscious of it was being able to say to people, ‘No, you don’t know what it’s going to sound like,’ without being wilfully eclectic.”

Goodwin’s lengthy UK tour will take place after a previously announced short run of shows starting in York at The Duchess tonight (February 24), followed by Hebden Bridge Trades Club on February 25 and Chester Live Rooms on February 27. He will then play Manchester Victoria Warehouse on February 28 as part of the BBC 6Music Festival.

Goodwin will also tour with Elbow on their UK arena tour in April. Click here for dates.
