The post-Glastonbury fundraiser is four times larger than usual this year...

Doves were the surprise headliners at this year’s PILTON PARTY – the small festival put together for local residents by MICHAEL EAVIS.

The post-Glastonbury bash is held by Michael Eavis as a thank you to the village for their support during the festival. And this year’s party was the biggest yet, making use of a tent which was four times larger than usual (September 5).

Doves’ hour-long set included new song ‘One Of These Days’, as well as ‘There Goes The Fear’ and ‘The Cedar Room’. The bill was completed with support from Damien Rice and local band The Treefrogs.

Speaking to NME.COM, Eavis said: “It makes about £30,000 for Pilton, so the villagers are all delighted. And I’m very pleased Doves could play as they’re a consistently great band.”

Doves have eight songs written for their next album, and hope to have another ten finished by December.
