DR DRE has settled a lawsuit against accountants PRICEWATERHOUSE COOPER for a reported $15 million days before the case was due to come to trial.
According to the LA Times, Dre, real name Andre Young, was claiming that the Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman arm of the company, the world’s largest accountancy firm, had mismanaged his finances when he co-owned Death Row Records. The suit was filed in 1998 and was due to come to court this week.
However the newspaper today (April 24) quotes sources as saying that the firm has paid Dre “an estimated $15 million” to resolve the case.
In other news, Death Row Records boss Marion ‘Suge’ Knight was paroled five days early from Sacramento’s Mule Creek State Prison on Friday (April 20), having served half of a nine-year sentence for violating probation on assault charges.
