Adele offered to collaborate with Drake on the track earlier this week
Speaking in an interview following ‘Drake Night’ at his hometown Toronto basketball club the Raptors, Drake responded to Adele’s remix suggestion, saying:
“I’d do anything with Adele. I’d literally go to Adele’s house right now and do laundry for her.”
Adele brought up the idea on November 23, saying:
“I really want us to do an official remix. I love Drake. I love Drake so much. I even got the coat that’s in the video – I got it delivered the other day, I ordered it. The red one.”
“I had a drink like three weeks ago [with] my best friends – in fact, it was to celebrate ‘Hello’. And I was off my face because I don’t really drink anymore, and they’ve got a video of me dancing to it on a coffee table as well,”
Adele’s ’25’, which came out on November 20, sold the most copies of any album during its first week of sale in the UK, topping 800,000 copies.
The album sold 800,307 copies in its debut week, an Official Chart Company record. The album passed the previous record holders Oasis and their 1997 album ‘Be Here Now’ yesterday. ‘Be Here Now’ sold 696,000 copies in its first week of release.
Official Chart Company data shows that ’25’ has sold more than the rest of the next 86 albums in the chart combined and more than the last 19 Number One albums in the UK combined too. The album is already certified double platinum by the BPI.
Drake, meanwhile, has been previewing new material from his next album ‘View From The 6’ via Vine.
