Drake on Madonna kiss: ‘Don’t misinterpret my shock, I got to make out with the queen’

The incident at Coachella made headlines after Drake appeared to grimace following the kiss

Drake has explained his reaction to kissing Madonna, telling fans not to “misinterpret my shock” and adding that he would “feel 100% about that forever”.

The pair kissed onstage at the closing day of Coachella Festival’s first weekend of 2015 in California on Sunday (April 12). Madonna appeared with Drake after he played his own song named for the pop icon. She went on to sing her track ‘Human Nature’ before kissing the rapper for several seconds and leaving the stage.

The incident made headlines when Drake appeared to grimace following the kiss. Scroll below to see photos and videos of that moment.


Drake had previously taken to Instagram to call the incident a “moment to write home about”. Madonna, meanwhile, posted a picture to Twitter with a caption calling it her “#bestnight”.

Now, the rapper has addressed the issue once more, saying on social media: “Don’t misinterpret my shock!! I got to make out with the queen Madonna and I feel 100% about that forever. Thank you @madonna”. See that Instagram post beneath.

Meanwhile, Drake is set to give his ‘If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late’ mixtape a physical release with two extra tracks.

The Canadian rapper released ‘If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late’ digitally earlier this year. The physical release is duo on April 21 and will include two additional tracks, the previously unheard ‘My Side’ and ‘How About Now’, first heard in 2014.

‘If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late’ was released on February 12 and came as a surprise to fans. Made up of 17 tracks, the album features Lil Wayne, Travi$ Scott and PartyNextDoor.

Drake will also headline Wireless Festival’s 10th birthday event in London on June 28.
