Drake says he’s working on a new mixtape

The new mixtape will follow on from 'Views' and two mixtapes Drake dropped last year

Drake has revealed that he is now working on a new mixtape.

The singer-rapper dropped his fourth album ‘Views’ in April, having released a pair of mixtapes, ‘If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late’ and ‘What A Time To Be Alive’, the latter a collaboration with Future, the previous year.

During a recent stop on his Summer Sixteen tour in Kansas City, Vibe reports that Drake told the audience: “I want you to protect yourselves and each other. When I go and work on this new mixtape and come back to Kansas City and I drop that s**t, I wanna see everybody in this motherf****r, boy!”

On Friday (July 22) Drake equalled Wet Wet Wet’s 15-week run at Number One on the UK’s Official Singles Chart.

‘One Dance’ has now matched Scottish popsters Wet Wet Wet’s spell on top, achieved in 1994 with their cover of The Troggs’ single ‘Love Is All Around’. It leaves ‘One Dance’ only one week behind the all-time record of 16 weeks, set in 1991 by Bryan Adams’ ‘(Everything I Do) I Do It For You’ from the film Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves. See below for NME’s survey about whether or not the public actually know ‘One Dance’ at all.
