Drake’s Toronto mega-mansion plans revealed – including a basketball court and a trophy room

The Canadian crooner is going big on his dream home

The blueprints for the enormous mansion Drake is planning to build in Toronto were revealed over the weekend – and they’re as ambitious as you’d expect.

Amongst other little luxuries, the Canadian crooner is having a basketball court installed in the basement and a hot tub on his roof. There are also plans for a bar area with separate fridges just for wine and for champagne, as well as a spa and a sports jersey museum, while one room is simply labelled “awards”. These are all to go alongside not one but two swimming pools in a sprawling 21,000-square-foot complex.

Drake acquired a large house in the city’s exclusive Bridle Path district for reported $6.7m Canadian (£3.5m), and is having it knocked down in order to construct his own dream crib.

According to plans filed with the city of Toronto, the rapper also plans a piano room, two dressing rooms, a music and screening lounge, a gym, a family room and two saunas. There are also bedrooms and kitchens, should he be needing those.

The 29-year-old artist, who was born Aubrey Drake Graham, is a global music star with an estimated net worth of $60m Canadian (£31.6m). He scored his second double number one of the year last Friday, topping both the UK’s album and singles charts with ‘Views’ and ‘One Dance’ respectively. He also owns another mansion, which he bought in California in 2012 for a reported $8m (£4.2m).
