The "playlist" project was previously expected to be out this month
Drake’s ‘More Life’ project won’t be released until 2017, it has been confirmed.
It was previously expected to come out this month (December), but the rapper’s manager has now confirmed the release plans.
Speaking on the latest episode of OVO Sound Radio (December 10), Oliver El-Khatib said ‘More Life’ will be out in early 2017, as Billboard reports.
Drake has already shared four songs from the project – ‘Fake Love’, ‘Sneakin”, ‘Two Birds One Stone’ and a remix of UK rapper Dave’s ‘Wanna Know’.
The rapper also echoed what his manager said via a post on Instagram. “Finally got to play today after recovering from the ankle injury. Happy to be back at 100 and ready for More Buckets More Shows and More Life 2017,” he wrote on a video of him playing basketball.
Drake previously described ‘More Life’ as a “playlist” project that will “provide a soundtrack to your life”, featuring new music from himself and other OVO label mates.
He will also tour the UK in 2017.
Additional dates in London and Leeds were recently announced to meet high demand. An extra date in Glasgow had already been announced, meaning Drake will now begin his UK tour on January 25, a day earlier than originally planned.
He will also play dates in Manchester, Sheffield and Birmingham during his UK tour, which now includes a total of 17 dates running until February 23.
Drake’s updated tour dates are as follows:
