Dua Lipa shares message of love with LGBTQ fans

Ahead of Pride Month in June

Dua Lipa has shared a message of love and unity with her LGBTQ fans.

The ‘IDGAF’ singer was attending the Billboard Music Awards over the weekend – which saw Janet Jackson, Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift triumph at the Las Vegas ceremony.

Speaking with Billboard‘s Keith Caulfield at the event on May 20, Lipa took the opportunity to share a message with the LGBTQ community ahead of Pride Month in June.

“I think it’s important to first of all just to show support – especially with the platform that I have,” she said. “To be able to kind of put the message out to a lot more people for acceptance – and to show that love is love and unity and all these things that I think are really important that we see every day and to us is just so lovely.”

She added: “I think it’s just important to share that with the world a lot more.”

During the awards, the singer also took to the stage to perform smash hit ‘New Rules’. Check out the performance above.

Meanwhile, Dua Lipa has responded to rumours that she is recording the theme to the next James Bond movie.

“I don’t know,” she said. “I would love to do it, but I’m not recording it…so far…I don’t want to jinx it. I would love to do it.”

In other news, Lipa has been announced as the opening ceremony performer for this year’s Champions League final.
