Duffy ‘biggest-selling musician of 2008 so far’

New figures reveal Welsh singer leads the way in album and single sales

New charts released today (July 7) by the Official UK Charts Company have revealed that Duffy has both the best-selling album and single of 2008 so far.

The Welsh singer’s debut album, ‘Rockferry’, is the biggest-selling album of 2008, while ‘Mercy’ leads the way in the singles stakes.

Nickelback‘s ‘Rockstar’ is the second biggest-selling single of 2008 so far, followed by ‘Now You’re Gone’ by Basshunter then Estelle‘s ‘American Boy’.

In the album stakes Coldplay‘s ‘Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends’ comes in behind Duffy in second place. Nickleback‘s ‘All The Right Reasons’ is the third best-selling album in the UK in 2008, while Scouting for Girls‘ eponymous album is the fourth.
