Duffy to play special one-off show in New York

Welsh songstress will perform at the Apollo

Duffy is gearing up for a very special one-off show in New York City which will take place the night before the US release of her debut album.

The Welsh singer will perform at the legendary Apollo Theatre in Harlem on May 12 as part of her promotional tour which will see her appear on Live With Regis & Kelly, Late Night With Conan O’Brien and The Tonight Show With Jay Leno.

The singer has so far announced just two dates on the continent, one at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival at the end of this month and the other at the Osheaga Festival in Montreal in August.

Her debut album ‘Rockferry’ will come out via Mercury Records and is set to be sold at Starbucks coffee shops across North America as well as record stores and online.

‘Rockferry’ was recorded with Jimmy Hogarth, Steve Booker and ex-Suede man Bernard Butler who said :

“It’s hard for cynical music industry types to get their heads around just how far removed she was from our world, geographically and in every other way. What you’ve got as a result is someone who acts and sings utterly unselfconsciously and from the heart, a most rare and magical thing.”
