Dum Dums have pulled out of the nationwide SMASH HITS pop tour because they did not want to compromise their indie credentials.
The three-piece had originally been slated to appear on the tour, which also features Billie Piper, Westlife, Atomic Kitten, Samantha Mumba and Madison Avenue. However, separate Dum Dums tour dates were recently released which directly clashed with the Smash Hits dates.
A spokesperson for the Smash Hits tour confirmed that the band had originally been confirmed to play it, but “pulled off because they didn’t feel it was their kind of market”.
Dum Dums, currently supporting Robbie Williams on his UK tour, now play:
Norwich Waterfront (November 30)
Wolverhampton Wulfrun Hall (December 2)
Cambridge Junction (3)
Exeter Lemon Grove (5)
Leicester Charlotte (6)
Nottingham Rock City (7)
Bristol Fleece & Firkin (9)
Newcastle University (10)
Manchester University (11)
Northampton Roadmenders (12)
London Shepherd’s Bush Empire (19)
