The former East 17 singer is jumped as he leaves The Works nightclub...

Former EAST 17 member BRIAN HARVEY was attacked and seriously injured outside a nightclub in NOTTINGHAM in the early hours of this morning (December 11).

Harvey was jumped as he was leaving The Works nightclub in the city – where he had been performing – at 1.40am. During what police have described as a “serious assault”, Harvey suffered a serious head wound. He was transferred to the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham where he is due to undergo a skin graft operation later today.

Police have said that initial enquiries have revealed Harvey was “involved in an altercation with four or five mixed race individuals when he was struck from behind with an inknown instrument.”

Harvey’s injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. They are appealing for witnesses.
