Rapper and singer songwriter have hooked up to cover the Bob Dylan classic

Ed Sheeran has teamed up with rapper Devlin for a cover of Bob Dylan‘s ‘All Along The Watchtower’.

The video for the song, which also features Kidulthood actress Jaime Winstone, sees the duo acting as robbers on the run after a job goes badly wrong. Scroll down and click below to view the clip.

The footage shows Sheeran suffering a bullet wound after they are pursued by armed police. The Brit Award winner sings the chorus of the cover which also samples the original version of the track along with the main riff from Jimi Hendrix’s own take on the classic single.

Devlin and Sheeran’s version of the song, which is simply titled ‘Watchtower’, is due for release on August 19.

Meanwhile, the flame haired singer is due to appear at the iTunes Festival in London on September 2. Other acts on the bill include Jack White and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.

In 2011, the likes of Coldplay, Manic Street Preachers, Chase and Status, My Chemical Romance, Linkin Park, Noah And The Whale and Foo Fighters all played the month-long free event.

Tickets for each gig are all given away from the event’s official website. See itunesfestival.com for full details on how to get them.
