Editors: ‘We want to begin work on a new album as soon as possible’

Group are eager to record the follow-up to 2009's 'In This Light And On This Evening'

Editors have revealed that they want to begin work on a new album “as soon as possible”.

Set to be the follow-up to 2009’s ‘In This Light And On This Evening’, the group admit that they can be “stronger and improve our song writing”.

“We want to get involved in writing new music as soon as possible and get into an environment that we all enjoy,” drummer Edward Lay told BBC 6 Music. “I think we have had enough time living with this record to know that we can be stronger and improve our song writing.”

He added: “We have a couple of demos already and they are sounding excellent. I am genuinely excited about the two tracks we have received so far from [frontman] Tom [Smith].”

Meanwhile, the band will support Muse at Manchester’s Lancashire County Cricket Ground on September 4.
