The band play new material at their NME Awards Show...
THE 80S MATCHBOX B-LINE DISASTER previewed material from their forthcoming second album at this weekend’s NME AWARDS SHOW (February 14).
The show at London Islington Academy, dubbed the ‘End Of NME Awards Valentine’s Disaster’, gave the band a chance to road-test tracks from the album, which they recorded last November in Los Angeles with Queens Of The Stone Age producer Chris Goss.
Singer Guy McKnight told NME.COM about the new material, which included recent single and show-opener ‘Mister Mental’.
He said: “I think there was a lot of tension in the air, it was the first we’ve played a lot of those songs, a lot of that stuff’s going to be on our new album. It’s inspiring to know that there are people who love the music.
“I think from the general reaction was that people really got off on it, I think we connected with the audience.”
