The group want to say 'thank you' to local fans...
ELBOW are planning to showcase songs from their second album at a secret MANCHESTER show, NME.COM can reveal.
Elbow are currently in the US, promoting their debut album ‘Asleep In The Back’. However, the group will start work on its follow-up this month.
Speaking from the Coachella festival in California bassist Pete Turner said the group were planning on writing during a long break in May, before they return to stateside touring with [a][/a] in June.
He said: “We have a month now, so we can get going. Maybe not recording, but just being in rehearsal rooms, playing together.”
The group are planning to test out the songs at a tiny ‘thank you’ date in or near Manchester in late summer.
Frontman Guy Garvey told NME.COM that despite the loss in January of his journal which contained lyrics and ideas for the new album, he has forged ahead and collected several ideas for new tracks.
“We’ve got little parts sorted and I started a new book which sort of helps with losing the old book. So we’ve got lots of little ideas, it’s just a case of dragging it together when the time comes.”
