The 12ft giants removed from side of M1 after drivers report seeing aliens...

ELBOW caused panic on the M1 MOTORWAY last week, when drivers mistook the two 12ft statues seen on the cover of new album ‘CAST OF THOUSANDS’ for aliens.

The ‘Elle’ and ‘Bo’ giants were removed by police on July 18 after they received reports from worried motorists who were reporting ‘alien’ type figures looming at the side of the road. Upon investigating the authorities declared the statues a distraction and a safety hazard to motorists and ordered them to be taken down.

The pair had been present at the Glastonbury and T In The Park festivals, and were on their way to the V Festival, via a rest-stop in a farmer’s field between J27 and J28 on the M1.

Latest reports from the police have reported that one of the figures has mysteriously ‘broken in two pieces’.

The album is released by V2 on August 18. A single, ‘Fallen Angel’, precedes it on August 4.
