Ellie Goulding’s Skrillex collaboration will not feature on her new album ‘Halcyon’

The singer was reportedly working on a song with her dubstep boyfriend and Swedish House Mafia

Ellie Goulding‘s collaboration with her dubstep producer boyfriend Skrillex will not feature on her forthcoming second album, ‘Halcyon’.

The pair recently recorded with Swedish House Mafia, reportedly for the new album. Sebastian Ingrosso of Swedish House Mafia spoke about the demo the three acts made together, saying: “Ellie and Skrillex came in 30 minutes late, and we had already started with a melody. Skrillex freaked out, he loved it, and after a few hours we wrote the song.”

However, Goulding has now revealed that Skrillex, real name Sonny Moore, will not feature on the record. Speaking to Billboard, Goulding said:

I definitely wanted him to work with this record, and… there’s no doubt that Sonny and I will work together, when we’re both a little bit less busy – because at the moment, his career is crazy.

‘Halcyon’ is the follow-up to Goulding’s 2010 debut ‘Lights’ and will be released on October 8. It will be preceded by a single, ‘Anything Could Happen’, on September 30. The singer acted as co-producer on ‘Halcyon’, which was recorded in her hometown in the Hay Valley with producer Jim Elliot (Kylie Minogue/Ladyhawke).

Speaking about the live shows which will come with the new album, Goulding said: “The tour is going to be bigger for this record, and in terms of production, a lot more is going to go into it. It’s gonna be a bit more advanced this time as I think about it a little bit more, trying to be more clever.”

Last month Goulding released of a cover of Active Child’s ‘Hanging On’, which featured a guest appearance from Tinie Tempah. The song is also available to download by clicking here.
