ELLIOTT SMITH is to feature on the new album from GUIDED BY VOICES, NME.COM can exclusively reveal.
A spokesperson confirmed to NME.COM today (November 7) that Smith has recorded a piano part on one, as-yet-untitled track which will feature on the group’s forthcoming album, which has a working title of ‘Broadcaster House’, and will be released in March 2001 through TVT Records.
The spokesperson added that the recording only took place “two and a half weeks ago”, as so was still in its early stages. The album is being produced and mixed by Rob Schnapf, who also mixed the first Foo Fighters album, as well as producing Beck’s ‘Mellow Gold’, as well as Elliott Smith’s last three albums.
Smith is currently on the final leg of a comprehensive US tour with Grandaddy, which is due to call at the DV8 club in Salt Lake City this evening (November 7), before finishing at the Wiltem Theatre in LA on November 14.
